GBSLEP Growth Hub Hits A Major Milestone

Wednesday 13th March

The number of businesses aided by the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) Growth Hub, partly operated by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), has reached the 1,000 milestone.

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund, the Hub is a single point of contact for support, signposting and funding opportunities across Birmingham, Solihull and South Staffordshire.

Russell Jeans, chief operating officer at the GBCC, said: "We have achieved the 1,000 milestone in relatively short time and we are well on our way to exceeding our target of providing intensive support to over 1,200 businesses by September, 2019.”

"This represents a tremendous achievement by our team based at the Chamber but, more importantly, we have helped many companies to thrive.”

Growth Hub manager David Evans: "It’s fascinating to be supporting businesses as they grow and thrive”.

"We have helped them grow their staff base, turnover and international trade, turning a lot of theory into practice. We have a commitment to help businesses succeed, prosper and thrive in every way possible.”

The 1,000 milestone has been reached after the GBCC and its key partners Birmingham City University and Aston University came together to deliver this prestigious contract on behalf of GBSLEP.

The Growth Hub acts as the focal point for businesses that wish to grow, providing co-ordinated and cohesive growth programmes, business networks, growth groups and links to specialist information, advice and services.

The Hub will continue to focus on the delivery of access to finance, resource efficiency, innovation, mentoring, growth coaching , manufacturing advice , start up support and export advice.
